Preservatives are used to help keep food safe to eat for longer. Any processed food with a long shelf-life is likely to include preservatives, unless another way of preservation has been used.
Certain juices do contain preservatives such as benzoic acid, sulphur dioxide and pimaricin. It is important for us as consumers to read the information provided on packs and labels, especially if we seek products free of added preservatives.
Ceres 100% Fruit Juice contains no added preservatives. Our juices are pasteurised and aseptically packed which eliminates the need to add preservatives. This process delivers a product with a 12 month shelf life. It is however important to note that our juices need to be refrigerated once opened.
